This is “Quail Day” – an oil painting by Linda Tracey Brandon. Brandon is a graduate of the University of Michigan. Since then she has studied representational art through many years of workshops, classes and private instruction. Her focused study of the great masters of the past and intense daily practice has resulted in a uniquely evolving point of view. Linda has studied with many of the best representational artists working today and currently teaches painting and drawing at Scottsdale Artists’ School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Linda has excelled in painting the portrait and the figure. In 2006, she won a Certificate of Excellence at the Portrait Society of America’s International Portrait Competition, and in 2005 she won an Exceptional Merit Award from the Portrait Society of America’s International Portrait Competition. I love that you bring beauty to your readers from every walk of life. Im very happy to have found your blog.
Awwww, thank you Claudia. I appreciate your feedback and your followership.
Such feelings of serenity in this piece. Will definitely check out her work. I have a soon-to-be-published article coming out on an artist named Craig Mooney. http://craigmooneystudio.com. TOTALLY different style, but his works elicit the same feelings of peace for me… Thx for scratching my “art itch,” pal…. 🙂
That’s it Lori. Serenity captured here. I will check out Craig now.
He does Lori. Thanks for pointing me to him.
Linda’s still lifes reminded me of the work of a painter friend of mine, Dennis Perrin, who lives in York, ME. He’s quite gifted as well. I love his nudes–they call to mind some of Courbet’s works, which I adore. You can see Dennis’ work here… http://perrinpainter.fineartstudioonline.com/ 🙂
Lori, thanks for pointing me to Dennis. He’s great.
