There was some debate in our household over what I saw in this photograph. No, debate isn’t the right choice of words. I was mocked. What do you see here?

um .. a little boy standing in awe of the tree. What else could it be? MJ
Hmmm. Ok, you sided with the others n the household, and not me. Let’s see how the others roll.
I see the bright light on top of the tree.
You always see the bright light friend…
Meaning, Perpetua’s perpetual sunny disposition…
Wouldn’t you, Dave?
No, Perpetua, that’s not the first or second observation I had of this shot. (Won’t be a spoiler until the morning)
Okay, I’ll wait what your observation is and the rest of your household. Smiling.
🙂
Someone scary standing at the top of the staircase with a flashlight???
Are you looking at the same picture the rest of us are?
Lol! It’s been a scary day here…everything looks peculiar now.
Doesn’t it look totally eerie now that I said that??? Creepy! Poor little guy.
LMAO. You live in some non-parallel universe.
I’m pretty sure you found that photo in the same collection of photos that you found the “creepy woman” photo in. Is that right?
Can’t stop laughing.
Maybe the boy is actually NOT looking at the tree…but walking away…in sheer exasperation what with the creepy person with the flashlight, the abundance of paper birds on the tree, and the framed pumpkin picture on the wall.
David, if you would add the tag “creepy” to your posts…it won’t take as long to find them next time. That woman, yikes! She must be the one at the top of the staircase with the flashlight. 🙂
OK, you got into my head with the “creepy woman” comment so I went searching for the old post. Don’t ask me how long it took to find it. (Way too long). I know you missed seeing her. Here she is at this link:

An old fashion Christmas?
Solid observation Robert. Not mine, but solid.
The light!
Excellent, healthy choice!
Now I see what you are pointing at. Did you put the in there, Dave? It wasn’t there the first time.
Huh?
There is an arrow pointing on the light <–
OMG. That was a copy/paste error. Laughing. I will fix. Thank you.
No kidding??? Belly laugh.
Yes. I messed up. 🙂 All fixed now. Thanks for the heads-up Perpetua.
Santa at the top of the staircase peering down while the boy is focusing on the tree.
Wow, good one.
I hadn’t even seen Santa.
There’s no Santa. No not in, general, only there’s no Santa in the picture. I do see the little boy looking tree and it kind of looks like he’s standing on fire because of the shiny floor reflecting the lights.
Apparently some still see (and believe in) Santa. 🙂
I still see Santa 🙂
Of course you do.
🙂 Merry Christmas!
boy in a hat looking at a chr tree, what is the creepy thing on the stairs? oops, not a hat, just a ribbon on the tree, and still, what is that creepy thing?
Laughing. Carol has got the creepy bus rolling.
This “thing” is actually looking at us making us foolish. Too funny, Dave. The more I look at it, the weirder my thoughts become. I better not have a nightmare, tonight.
Funny. I hope not too!
I have no clue – but it’s a sweet picture..
🙂
I see world peace (gonna give that interpretation another whirl while I wait for Mimi to chime in and tell us what we’re actually looking at….)
Laughing. You are still on the Peace Train with Rene Gruau. Mimi gave the Tree a fatigued pass this morning. 🙂
The top of the tree looks like a bird, but then, I see birds everywhere. 🙂
Peregrine Falcon it is then! 🙂
A child looking at the beautifully decorated tree.
the guy from the Scream painting
I can see the birds… and also someone at the stairs but not clear… and a lovely photograph with this little boy…. Actually there is not any gift package under the tree 🙂 But what I see in the tree, in the light, (on the left side) a cat yes, much more seems like a cat… not a dog… I can see her paws/legs and eyes… 🙂 Can you see dear David?
Thank you, Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday, love, nia
David, I see a floating Christmas tree!
Wow, a floating tree. What an imagination Marianne.
Each takes their own meaning from the objects in the world around them. I see only a boy in front of a Christmas tree, but the lack of presents under the tree might infer something.
Yes, so true Alex. I had seen the same (lack of presents under the tree) and the boy’s shoulders slumped like he was sad. This photo and the various comments above remind me a quote I came across on Steve Layman’s Blog that I thought was apropos here:
