This is an unedited version of The Elephant Story from The Carol Burnett Show. The original air date was November 5, 1977. Tim Conway refuses to let the scene continue until he can finish a story about a circus elephant. Not sure what is funnier, Conway’s jokes or the inability of the cast to keep a straight face…
Thank you SoulProprietor
i remember tim, and this show, very well. he was the original king of improv, and rambling, and the audience, and fellow cast members, loved him for it.
I smile just thinking about it.
I so loved that show. Especially when they cracked each other up. He and Harvey Korman were classic. I’ll never forget the Gone with the Wind sketch.
Yes, and the famous Dentist skit…
Such memories – I’d watch the Carol Burnett show with my dad, and these ad lib moments from Tim Conway (or Harvey Korman) would just make him laugh so hard, he’d snort.
Classic. Like Jackie Gleason, The Carol Burnett Show will live on.
Laughing….it never gets old. My personal favorite was the dentist office….
Mine too!
I never tire of watching The Carol Burnett show! It always cracked me up when the cast members couldn’t control themselves any longer and laughed during their performance. There is no better way to start the day than with a laugh like the one you provided this morning!
Thanks. I felt the same way. Have a good weekend.
Absolutely classic. And Vicki Lawrence just sealed the deal…. 🙂
She did. Whopping punch line.
Thanks for such a wonderful memory. I used to watch Carol Burnett every week. We all need laughter in our lives and they consistently gave it to us.
Me too, Carol Burnett (and All in the Family) were staples. Both so funny.
One of the best cast ever in TV. Tim was amazing at getting the other members to lose it.
He was. I laugh just thinking about certain episodes Tim.
Thanks Dave….still needed the kleenex, but this time for laughing so hard.
Laughing. So true Nat.
Still funny after all this time!
It is!
Brilliant ! Thanks for posting this . I’ve never seen it and it’s so funny.
My pleasure. I smile again just thinking about the clip.
Not many things make me laugh out loud – but this did!! Great stuff.
🙂
Lol!!!
🙂
Reblogged this on Teacher as Transformer and commented:
We used this video in one of our classes this fall to help better understand the writing of Alfred North Whitehead. Improvisation is the world we live in. The best laid plans of mice and men fall to the wayside each moment.
Thanks for sharing Ivon.
You are welcome David.
I was waiting for the milk to come out of Carol’s mouth from laughing. This show just leaves me in stitches. 😆
Me too Perpetua.
