“…It turns out that when we decide how we feel about someone, we are making not one judgment, but two. The criteria that count are what we call “strength” and “warmth.” Strength is a person’s capacity to make things happen with abilities and force of will. When people project strength, they command our respect. Warmth is the sense that a person shares our feelings, interests, and view of the world. 1. i for one have always had a very strong haircut – that’s pretty much it. Just kidding David – I actually think being able to sustain the right balance of both is challenging and ultimately representative of the characteristics that make some people so compelling as leaders.

    1. You have a wonderful haircut Mimi. :). Yes, again you are on point. Striking the right balance is essential yet so difficult. And being consistent in execution so you can be trusted is another table stake.

  2. As he said, “Awareness is key.” I have been hearing a story from childhood that once an Angel asked GOD why did HE put everthing inside a human’s Mind & Heart? Why so close to them? If they are going to be tested. GOD replied, “Because humans will search and explore the entire universe to find the answers but wouldn’t bother to look inside where all the answers lie…”

  3. I don’t even have a strong haircut! There seems to be an overabundance of the exhibiting of strength, but I’m not sure I like the idea of “controlling” warmth. Is there ever enough projection of warmth in the world?
