But NOT Biblioclast (Sacrilegious!), Biblioklept/Bibliolestes (Blasphemous!), Bibliopole (Rarely and with anxiety), Biblioriptos (No!  Set them down gently, carefully, cautiously).

  1. There must be a bibliosomething word for those who give away books (either out of generosity or in a fit of decluttering), only to regret it later, having then to spend money to rebuy those books. Repeatedly.

    1. LAUGHING! (I don’t give away books. Fetish.) There must also be something for those who can’t seem to give up old textbooks. (What possible use can they have? Can’t bring myself to do it)

      1. You’re just like my dad! He couldn’t dump the physics textbooks from university in the 50s so he gave them to me. You can guess what I might have accidentally done with them …

  2. Apparently, I am a bibliomane, which I recently heard described as ” one who engages in shelf development as opposed to self development”. I try to read them all, really, sigh!
