Toronto had a 4-1 lead over Boston in the final period. No team had ever won a Game 7 after trailing by three goals in the third period. No team, that is, until Boston roared back last night with four goals in 16 minutes, 47 seconds. Toronto retains a firm grip on a longstanding and dubious distinction – a 44-year drought since winning its last Stanley Cup in 1969. The picture says it all. Maple Leaf Fans. Cursed. And cursing. Suffering the agony of defeat yet again. Baseball anyone?

so close yet so far–they are coming back–we just have to be patient (fingers and toes crossed)
Oh boy. Like 44 years isn’t patient? 🙂
beyond patient………..
Hearthbreaking! a little correction, I think it was in 1967 the last time they won, it was Expo 67 in Montreal, and Leafs beat the Canadians…if I’m correct…
Really? So it’s worse than I thought! OMG
It would be awfully nice if ANY Canadian team could win the cup again …
Here Here to that!
Very sad for the Leafs fans.
Yes it certainly is

Sorry. ): From a girl in Boston
Well at least this is coming from a polite Boston fan. 🙂
There’s always next year… 🙂
Wow. Now that is inspiring Peggy
Unbelievable! I missed the game but couldn’t stop watching the highlights over & over. Two goals in the last minute and a half. Leafs making the wrong kind of history again!
Exactly!
