“The way my Sunday afternoons go, I end up doing a little bit of various things, none very well. It’s a struggle to concentrate on any one thing. This particular day, everything seems to be going right. I think, Today I’ll read this book, listen to these records, answer these letters. Today, for sure, I’ll clean out my desk drawers, run errands, wash the car for once. But two o’clock rolls around, three o’clock rolls around, gradually dusk comes on, and all my plans are blown. I haven’t done a thing; I’ve been lying around on the sofa the whole day, same as always.”
Murakami is one of my favorite authors (Kafka on the Shore; The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle; Norwegian Wood). In addition to being an award winning and prolific writer, he’s a marathoner and triathlete. If he lands here on Sunday afternoons, I’m good. 🙂

:), we’re twinners Carol.
I have had those days, plan lots, do little. Determined to avoid that this year.
You are working to hard Alex…cut yourself some slack! 🙂
I’m feeling better about not getting all the way down my “to – do” list.
Me too…:)
Sundays were made to be lazy 🙂
There are, aren’t they?!
I can relate to this. The best laid plans of mice and men. The only thing I do on a Sunday afternoon, this time of year, is watch football games. Right now Ravens beating Colts 10 to 6 and my energy is already giving out. I bet I will be napping by the time the second game comes on. Oh well.
BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!
Me too. Late breakfast/brunch. Reading. Game, Long nap. Doesn’t get better than that. And your Ravens are still in it Francine…!
It really is amazing how Sunday can begin with the best of intentions, and somehow the better course of action ends up choosing to be idle. There must be something to be said for it, I think, because it happens often enough. 😉
Exactly…:)
If I sat in front of that fireplace with a snack tray, I wouldn’t get anything accomplished either!
Laughing. Me too.
Love this and the picture, would love to be in it right now, lol Nice gentle Sunday reading, thank you 🙂
I’m with you Aurora…
Yes, who wouldn’t be, it’s so darn inviting 🙂
