A solid half an hour spent trying to capture a non-blurry blood moon shot in pre-twilight. Failed! Gear not up to the task. Incredibly frustrating if it wasn’t so beautiful. And if that wasn’t enough, as I took my second lap around the park, I was treated to meteor falling straight from the sky. And, no, I wasn’t fast enough to catch that beauty either. Happy Tuesday!

HH often says to me (when he gets p… off with my pointing the camera too often and he’d like to keep his stride): *You mustn’t take pictures. Keep things in your mind!* That’s what I call a perfect example of putting one’s interests in the foreground instead of suffering in silence 🙃

I spent years thinking I needed to take pictures of my sons in their various sports and events. Then I realized that soaking it all in was much better for my heart and soul and I put the camera down. Of course, I had a poor excuse for a camera and a poorer excuse for ability but I was relentlessly dogged in my efforts. You are an artist now just as you are a writer so our goals are much different. I was secretly glad when you chucked it all and were rewarded by the asteroid.

funny! You are the gadget guy, so being able to see the moon perfect requires a more profession lens. Time to add to Christmas list. Susan buying the dog she wanted for your birthday happened to me, I think I told you that. So you need so extra Christmas money for more gadets. Makes sense to me.

I didn’t go out or even look out. But was up thinking about it and the fact that I’m here on this planet in the middle between the Sun and the Moon, the chances of them lining up like this, how they actually do line up. The reminder every now and then of the order and intricacies that are simple and clear in and event like this. How it was events like the lunar eclipse and the solar eclipse that were hints into how the universe works.

I was so relieved to see you were “on” to the lunar eclipse…and sad that your mechanical implements almost spoiled the magnificence of this ancient experience for you. Both your writing and your photography bring us joy (and I suspect that no one here is rating your tech expertise). Just before going to bed late last night, I looked out on my porch and was amazed at how brilliantly our full moon shone the whole area.

The photos look great to me! Thanks for taking the photos and I am glad to have sent a reminder…///the last lunar eclipse this summer I watch it go into totality as the ISS flew past…Cool you saw an meteorite! I’m sure you heard the news account of the man’s who has was struck by the meteorite a few days past? unfortunately his house started on fire (due to meteorite) and his home was lost.

I’ve read a few different accounts one was that folks saw the meteor and said to the firemen that they wonder if it started the fire…the home owner heard a big bang and then his porch rapidly caught fire…of course there will be further investigation by fire officials..

Debris from jets also fall and cause problems
I’m sure this isn’t that last word on this event…
If it were me I’d be shifting through the debris and if I found an Meteor I’d be a selling it…
