A new tent city starting up, goose style. Poor homeless thing. Her kids don’t stand a chance.

First thing I thought. Could she have picked a more vulnerable spot.

Yes, way too exposed to people and dogs and birds of prey. Not a chance for her to make it through the nesting!

Tent City! Thought that too. Look at that hardscabble stick nest.

I’ve been watching the news about what’s going on in the States and I find it very upsetting. Couldn’t sleep thinking about how Biden is enabling drug and human trafficking by allowing all the illegal immigration. I’m all for legal immigration, but this is a crime what he is doing. Hard to sleep after watching all those children whose parents don’t seem too worried about sending them on these trips alone.

It’s a major problem. Don’t think that Biden wants this, but he’s got it and now needs to deal with it. And how parents can send their kids with traffickers is beyond my comprehension.

thank you. and I saw a contrast to the ones I wrote about the goose who laid hers on a rock in the river, ill-fated from the onset

You wonder what’s going through their heads on nest location selection.

I told DK they found your egg, adopted it and built the best around it. 😁

Is this how the saying “silly goose” came to be? Idk, maybe she knows what she’s doing. As long as her protector is near — and no one clumsily sets any eggs to rolling around…

Silly Goose. Good one. It does make you wonder of all places to nest, why here in the wide open????

Open water is not raptor-preferred space (& no eagles were sighted?); no boat tie-ups (yet); Mr. Goose can take seagulls; no easy getaway for marauding land animals; order-out food delivery can find them easily, idk 😊 but here’s hoping with Mama!

Oh my, as so many others have noted, this seems like an awfully vulnerable spot. Here’s hoping for a protective veil over this mama….

And 28 days to incubate eggs!

If they manage to hold on for 28 days, that will be a miracle.
Oh hey, I had a thought. It’s Beth’s egg that they found. They felt bad so the decided to adopt it and built the nest around it! 😉
