No words this morning, truly.

Yes. That pit in stomach keeps growing.

That’s exactly it. I tossed and turned all night and awoke this morning literally feeling sick to my stomach. I don’t recognize our country right now. I am saddened, frightened and enraged.

Same. Exactly the same.

Its seems unthinkable, but it is happening. Right now. We had no idea before. Now we are aware of it. We must acknowledge this. The power in connection through the internet has brought all kinds of people together.
On an other note … The soft shift to peace is an inner journey. Outer peace and lasting change only emerges from chaos and the breaking open or falling apart of what no longer works.

I took note, as I do nearly every day, of ‘your’ happenings on the Stephen Colbert Show. I was so shocked that I felt my breakfast raising. This is so, so, so bad. We can only hope that this horrible person’s activity is reduced to a prison cell for the rest of his life. And that all the thousands who still think he is God realise that ‘he’ won’t do anything at all for them now that he is powerless.

Yep. 100% agree.

And the ancient trees are saying, “Your democracy held. You’re wiser today. You are turning the page. And we are proud of you.”

Let’s hope government, all sides, is listening.

The hardest part (of all the hard parts) is discovering just how fine a thread it is upon which democracy dangles. I can even count the number of times over the last four/five years I’ve said, “I can’t believe this is happening in America.” And now, I am saying it again. I hope Relax’s prophecy comes true because I do not see much to be proud of right now.

100% agree with you Carolann.

What is happening ‘there’ lives in my house. It has entered my heart. My mind. My body.
It disturbs me. Makes me feel fearful. Restless. Unsettled.
And then… I remember to breathe.
As Val said, peace ‘outside’ comes through the chaos of breaking through what is not working.
I too wrote of it on my blog this morning. There was so much that was not working with what happened yesterday and amidst it all, there were miracles.
I will continue to seek miracles.

Well said Louise. It feels that a miracle is necessary here.

Dave, what suddenly also comes again to my mind (together with many other memorable quotes) and which I think I’d like to share with you, is this: I believe in some blending of hope and sunshine sweetening the worst lots. I believe that this life is not all; neither the beginning nor the end. I believe while I tremble; I trust while I weep.”
― Charlotte Bronte, Villette
That last sentence…. it rings so true!
