The Thing About Dogs from Daniel Koren on Vimeo.
Not exactly sure why I liked this. Watched it 3x and was left smiling, each time. What is it? Is anything Dogs good? Is it so different that it’s compelling? The finish? Ugh. His voice – the cadence, the accent? What is it ? No idea. Loved it.
I love the thoughts he articulates on behalf of our canine friends..And yeah, I would imagine they get disappointed when everything that they’re trying to say comes out as a bark (I also love his pup’s attentiveness while being read to).
Yes, he was certainly focused…
Ah, no need to have a reason really… just because!
It’s beautiful.
Thank you, Dave!
🙂
ps. I wish they don’t give up…
🙂 It is beautiful Marina. I’m with you.
I think it’s the background music myself. Very jazzy and soothing. I like the fact that he made a video about what dogs are feeling in their quest to communicate. Our dog seems to do just fine. He finds a way to tell me exactly what he wants! (It’s usually food related).
Yes, music is very good…as to your dog, our dog, they have all trained running around after them.
weirdly compelling
it is, isn’t it?!
I can’t watch it. Had to put Frankie, 13 year old Lab, to sleep a couple of nights ago. I can’t even write about him yet. I will come back and watch this later but for now, I just miss my fuzzy little friend too, too much.
MJ
I’m sorry.
So sorry MJ.
Thank you. I wrote about him today. His presence is still in the house and I swear he was waiting for me this morning to do the usual — I drink coffee while he putters in the yard. The grief is palpable. MJ
Quirky, but cute…
It is, isn’t it….
Haha, love it! 🙂 Bella is so smart…she understands my language (really!)…and I’m sure she wonders why I’m not smart enough to understand her language. I’m sure every one of those barks really means something unique and different. It’s all really just that we don’t understand bark language. Anyway, this video was cute and funny to me.
Wow. You teed this up. She understands “Your” language. Well of course she does.
This is very well put together. His words and the dogs’ body language are synchronized so it’s very believable. I love the parts where he’s trying to teach the dog to read.
So true. Wonderful video.
“They can say nothing, and it makes them sad.” I really loved this.
Yes, it was different and cool. Me too Sandy Sue.
It’s about dogs…. that’s all I needed for a perfect start to the day.
It is about Dogs. Period.
It’s cute. Made me smile, too! I don’t think dogs give up, they keep trying to talk to us in their own unique and special way. They don’t use words but they most definitely will find a way to communicate!
They certainly do Vicki.
Dogs communicate through sign language – hand/paw signals to the human in charge. They are so smart – they train their humans through boy language to do what they want.
Laughing. They do train their humans to do what they want. They certainly do.
Strangely compelling.
Isn’t it though!
Glad to know something about dogs through this video as I have never been with one. I liked the concept of the video “Understanding what dogs are trying to say”.
Never had a dog. If you even think of getting one, think of these factors:

Aww Thank you David.
