Argo v. The Sessions

Both are entertaining and based on a true story.  However, “The Sessions” was the hands down winner.  John Hawkes and Helen Hunt are both exceptional.  The Sessions “is based on the optimistic autobiographical writings of California-based journalist and poet Mark O’Brien – – who was confined to an iron lung and who is determined–at age 38–to lose his virginity. With the help of his therapists and the guidance of his priest, he sets out to make his dream a reality.”

      1. Saw Argo — thought it was brilliant & deserved to win — I did see Lincoln & loved it too but Argo is a better film & better movie experience my wife and I thought. Argo has a natural, authentic feel to it, despite Ben’s movie star performance. The rest of the cast was stellar as was Affleck’s directing. Now to see The Sessions.

  1. I’m going to watch the Sessions today. Saw The Beasts Of The Southern Wild Yesterday – it deserved to be on the list. Powerful, powerful movie – bring tissues.

  2. I’ve always enjoyed Helen Hunt’s acting…!
I haven’t seen either movie as yet, though I’m now looking forward to seeing ‘The Sessions’, then maybe Argo. Perhaps I’ll wait for the DVD… Thank You, David.. 😉

  3. Can’t wait to see The Sessions. Just placed a hold on the library last week. Loved Argo though.
