The Voting Polls Are Open

2013 is rapidly approaching.  A new year.  New beginnings.  I’ve been thinking about changing the title of my blog.  When I started this blogging venture, I expected to take a certain path.  And then I took a fork in the road.

The Kanigan household is divided on the decision.  (Note that I didn’t say sharply divided as this topic doesn’t fall on the short list of their top 10 priorities.)

I’d appreciate your feedback on what you feel my blog represents to you.  Please select one of the options below or write in your preferred recommendation.  Hit the VOTE button.*

I will share the election decision on New Year’s Day.  If you prefer to drop me an email with your thoughts, please send it to davidkanigan@yahoo.com.  Thank you!

* This is my first attempt at using a blog poll.  Let’s hope this works.

  1. Funny (or not) that I am doing some similar thinking – David and Mimi engage in parallel play once again. I love the title of your blog because it’s what I’ve come to know and how I think of your posts. If you want to change it, that’s totally cool..you’re going to sustain and continue to build an avid fan base regardless of the title. Just don’t change the substance, ok? (and I fear that these other titles sound too much like chapters, rather than titles if that makes any sense?)

  2. I, like Mimi, love your current title,as it’s what I’ve come to associate with you and the content of your posts. I think it’s wonderful and more encompassing than some of the other titles you’ve floated. If pressed to add one component, though, I’d say LAUGH, as that’s what I do so frequently when I read your wonderful musings. “LEARN. LIVE. LAUGH” ?

    1. Lori, thank you. Yes, “laugh” is certainly missing and perhaps (I say perhaps) encompassed in LIVE. “LEAD” spooks many, I’ve been told. Especially leading with “Lead”.

  3. Merry Christmas and all the best for you and family in the New Year.
Although your intended journey was quite different, it is as if your choice of title set the path. Leadership is comprised of many nuances, but the most important IMHO is the person behind the position. Your blog still provides inspirational leadership, albeit in a different form to that you may have considered. For those of us that have enjoyed working with you, and would happily join you on whatever journey you asked us to, your blog definitely reinforces your leadership, and inspires in many ways. Thank you for your “open book”. Keep going my friend … Lead. Learn. Live.

  4. People seem to have a need to change for the sake of changing. Change is only needed if the goal has changed or there is a perceived improvement in reaching that goal though a change. Lead.Learn.Live is simple and effective, in my eyes. You lead by example, you are constantly learning and you are living by doing. Do you see an honest improvement on your inspiring three words by any change to them? In the end only you know, for the goal is the motivation behind your blog.

  5. I’m sure we’ll all continue to love you, whatever your blog’s name! Although I voted, I’ve got mixed feelings about changing the name, as it’s the one with which everyone is familiar. There’s a cosy and secure feeling attached to good things staying the same 🙂

  6. Your blog title is perfect. You deliver on what you advertise. When I see your title I know I’m in for a treat. I follow you whatever you decide!

    BE ENCOURAGED! BE BLESSED!

  7. No matter what you call it, it’s an amazing blog! But my vote is to keep it as is or perhaps rearrange the words to: Live.Learn.Lead. Seems to me that life’s lessons kind of go in that direction: living and learning prepare you for leadership. Although I admit they are all related and somewhat circular, so maybe I’ve just talked myself into suggesting you leave well enough alone! 🙂

    1. Jay, thanks so much for the kind words, your vote and for the feedback. A friend of mind said exactly the same thing 1 month after I started the blog. I appreciate your thoughts and followership. Happy New Year to you and your family. Dave

  8. I love the the words lead. learn. live. I don’t think you need to change anything but if you do I like Learn. Lead. Live. Think you need to learn then to lead then to live. At the end of the day it doesn’t matter what you call it…it’s the information you are sharing.
