NoiseTrade: Your first single “Move Together” seems to either be an intensely personal story or a fantastically deceptive work of fiction. Did you write it to be creative or cathartic? 

James Bay: My best songs are always the most honest ones. I try and stick to things that are going on in my life; all the feelings and emotions that I really need to express. So yeh, I definitely had something to get off my chest when I wrote “Move Together.”

Frightened Rabbit is a Scottish indie rock band formed in 2003 and based in Glasgow. The band played this tune on the Late Show with David Letterman last month.  Find their new 2013 album on iTunes here.

Hannah Trigwell

Hannah Trigwell, 22, is an English singer-songwriter from Leeds, West Yorkshire.  Trigwell began her musical career at the age of 17 when, as a self-taught singer and guitarist, she took to the streets of Leeds to play her music for anyone that cared to stop and listen.  Like many up and coming musicians, Hannah owes much of her success to YouTube.  Her YouTube page, containing videos of live versions of original songs and covers, has gathered over 3.9 million views and gains 10,000 hits per day.  One of her earliest videos, a cover of the Tracy Chapman song “Fast Car”, has now amassed 337,314 views since its upload in December 2007. A more recent video, a cover of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”, has received over 2 million views since its upload in December 2011.  (Source: Wiki)

Feelin’ like foot-stomping Johnny Cash.  “Dale Watson, 50, grew up in poverty outside of Pasadena, Texas as one of four boys. Watson’s father (whom he is named after) and brother, Jim were both musically inclined and guided what have become his longstanding musical influences. Watson began writing his own songs at age 12, making his first recording two years later. By day he went to school and by night he played local Houston clubs and Honky Tonks with Jim in an aggregation called the Classic Country Bandin. He champions “Ameripolitan” as a new genre of original music and has positioned himself as a tattooed, stubbornly independent outsider who is interested in recording authentic country music.
