I’ve held them in my hand after rescuing them from a neighbour’s skylight, and they are so, so delicate. They weigh about as much as a feather.

It was very rewarding when they finally flew away after recovering from the exhaustion of trying to fly out through the skylight. They really are death traps for many little birds and insects. I saw a dragonfly doing the same thing the other day. I would never have a skylight in a porch for that reason.

I’ve never ever seen a hummingbird life….. what a party-yes, ring the bell! This is über-amazing and I wish I could have seen this.

ha ha – I ask you back: With all I’ve experienced, who would want to live in the US? You can’t start to imagine at HOW GLAD and happy I was to having been able to return to my native home country….

They are the most exquisite little birds. My parents have tons around their house in Texas and have all sorts of feeders up for them. I love the gentle ‘whir’ of mealtime. The speed of their little wings is amazing.
