  1. Wonderful word! Thank you. In return, I will offer you “querencia,” which means a safe haven, a place where one feels secure, and where one’s strength of character is drawn from. Originally, it is a Spanish word from the “sport” of bullfighting—referring to the place in a bull ring where the bull goes to feel safe and to gather his strength. We all need both an abditory and a querencia.

  2. “A safe repository for valuables; a hiding place (literal and figurative). Origin. Mid 17th century. From post-classical Latin abditorium hiding place” I like that you and your brain have a place of adbidtory…and then at some point you Share, Wonderfully the thoughts, images, feelings & intellect you have gleaned in your Immersion of Beauty….and I love how we all gain from your personal interaction & interpretation…/// since the origin of the word from what I read is French and Latin -hmm 17th I wonder what influence those Priates that sailed the 7 seas, had to do with this word since they have hid their bounty in hiddy – hole around the world… treasure hunters today are searching for unclaimed bounty… PS: I’ve never watched Oak Island either…I’d heard people mention it, so one day I goggled…for about 2 sec and thought oh…not my cup of tea…I have other activities I’d rather do than watch that./// You tube is full of videos on making hiddy-holes in one’s home or on one’s property…

  3. I assumed that Island Cove Park was your abditory…and, that you closest 100 friends do know where it is! And that you take us there with you frequently… Sacred…we’ll keep it secret!

  4. ….understand. Maybe my eyes are too tired to focus? I shall see what your friends come up with. I probably just need a hiding place for a while! No need for a beautiful name – just a peaceful hide-away.
