Acceptance, when it comes arrives in waves; listen with your chest. You will feel a pendulum swing within you, favoring one direction or another. And that is your answer. The answer is always inside your chest. The right choice weighs more. That’s how you know. It causes you to lean in its direction.

I only ‘knew’ him by the film Running with Scissors (which I never had the opportunity to watch) – and I might argue that ‘my’ way of listening and making choices in the end always comes (has to come) from my heart, not my chest. Or, as my long dead father used to say to us children (all strong minded and forever discussing every little thing): It’s always better when the heart is a bit softer than the mind.

Funny how this would come to me today, especially after being absent for a while. I feel the pendulum swinging.

Noticing where our heart / chest is leaning is powerful. Thanks for sharing Dave. I’ll still think of heart as a part of me still associates chest with manly hair and pecs ….
