- Photo: “Camel Herding” by David Swindler: “Since we are in Mongolia, what could be better than taking on the role of a camel herder! It was a cold morning in the Gobi Desert as evidenced by the camel’s breath. Fortunately, we warmed up quickly as we climbed the steep dunes with the camels. Immediately after I snapped this shot, the camel came up and kissed Evelyn on her shoulder. What a memorable morning we had with these magnificent animals!” (Thank you for sharing Christie!)

Sunrise. Beautiful morning. Cool sands. Beautiful women in long gowns who just happen to be walking in Remote part of Gobi Desert. Yes!

Well…. I’m sure if it weren’t for Caleb, they wouldn’t be there in the first place. We’d go to the Moon for Caleb!!!! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

How can one be surprised with Caleb’s star power?

WMS. Not thinking I would waltz into the desert with a camel decked out in a swanky evening gown, but it *does* make for a stunning photo…

It looks like the woman has a sleeveless dress on, and yet I can see the camel’s breath. (I just saw that this is mentioned in the caption). I’d be running to put on a sweater. I’m guessing she doesn’t have her camel-herding clothes on.

Dave, your most welcome…it is so stunning…the light play and shadows, amazing…the waking day coming alive during that fabulous sun rise…Caleb doesn’t seem to mind that a beauty is holding his “golden” rope lead…/// I remember that many of the Caleb photos are set in Mongolia…and then one share that really impacted me, set in the Gobi of Mongolia was a gorgeous landscaped photo and an excerpt of Pico Iyer, from The Heart-Clearing Stillness of the Mongolian Countryside (wsj.com, February 27, 2018)

This looks rather like a fashion shoot than taking Caleb out for a walk…. If I were Caleb, I ‘d be really cranky; taking the glory from him to transfer it to the scantily clad woman.
As for the photo itself, it’s one of the most glorious ones I’ve seen. HHD

(Aw! Shame on me! That’s a really lovely shot that doesn’t need my commentary!)

Camel spit isn’t generally thought to help the dry skin that is associated with exposure to desert sun. In fact, most people regard it as just f’ing nasty!
