We are somewhere in the middle of nowhere outside a small village where foxes and hares wish each other good night, but we had 5cm of snow last night and 15cm (10 in) higher up, heavy fog, so we took a walk from a higher point to a suspension bridge we read about. It was a beauty filled walk with each step on the fresh and white snow crunching under our weight, firs and other trees heavily laden with the weight of snow, just waiting for the lightest wind to unburden themselves – but it was so still and wonderful…. At the bridge there was an information board and a specialty cheese producer from higher up on the alps had his produce packed in chunks of approx 300g in a wooden vat, priced each and a rusty old metal box for the money. Think that this was somewhere else – all would be stolen within minutes. Not here! The bridge swayed slightly and my phone-videos were so-so… then we started chatting to the only other couple there, out in the fresh cold world, not afraid of the wandering fog – & low and behold – we have the same family name…. We chatted until we were frozen before they took the bridge under their feet and we descended to our car ….. another day than yours, for us a micro holiday, but what memories are we taking with us tomorrow when we return home!
Thank you for sharing it with us–wish you’d had a photo…doesn’t have to be like David’s (don’t expect exquisite from everyone). Did you purchase some cheese? if so, what kind?…just love the stillness and whiteness…and the swaying bridge and new friends met “there”!
Then there are the photos from the waters by Cove Island Park! Only the brave this morning…if you’ve no feathers or fur. How connected you are–maybe it’s the beauty that takes you there….
Wow. Just wow. 🙂

He, DK. It’s a HE. Drake mallard. Nice photo. HE has the right idea – like sleeping in on a rainy morning.
