David, I am not sure of the number of consecutive days you have now spent witnessing sunrise but I am in awe of the fact that you have.
I am curious… have you thought about how it’s changed you?
I ask because several years ago, I wrote a love poem a day to my beloved for a year. Over the course of that year, my understanding and knowing of Love deepened — not just with all my relationships but deep within me. The shifts were profound and continue to resonate.
I’m curious if you’ve felt similar shifts witnessing sunrise day after day and capturing daybreak’s promise and beauty in all its shifting light.
Thank you for this beautiful awakening to my day.
Louise, I read your comment this morning, and I set it aside to think. Beautiful comment I thought. Louise at it again, how she manages it time and time again, awesome.
And what a Great question! I think when it comes right down to it, there is a sense of anticipation of what’s new each morning followed by a sense of calm. And a realization that my problems and concerns are “little” in the scheme of the universe and my morning rituals have enabled me to gather more perspective. I believe Kierkegaard said it best:
“Then, all at once, I felt how great and how small I was; then did those two mighty forces, pride and humility, happily unite …” Søren Kierkegaard, The Soul of Kierkegaard: Selections from His Journals
Instead of being home in bed with a bad cold, you’re taking more and more beautiful greeting the day beautie. Nature and beauty must heal you…and giving that gift to us!

Oooh…. I love your insight! This… “there is a sense of anticipation of what’s new each morning followed by a sense of calm.”
So beautiful — as is the Kierkegaard quote (as always, you find just the right one!)
Thank you for taking the time to answer.

What is that bright light? I can vaguely remember that we used to have a similar light here, way back in September.
