How lonely it is:
A winter world full of rain,
Rain raining on rain.
— Richard Wright, from “Haiku: The Last Poems of an American Icon”
Photo: DK. Daybreak. October 30, 2020. 6:37 am. Today’s Forecast: Rain. And more rain. 40° F, feels like 31 ° F. Wind Gusts up to 33 mph. Cove Island Park, Stamford CT
Never lonely for the garden which soaks up the rain with a smile.

So did you drive to the Cove and walk the two miles, there? I think you might need some Gortex apparel and boots that are leather and Gortex… you know I am well versed in Rain…(which makes it so green)
Yesterday, we had Fog All Day! Cold all day…the entire state was Sunny and Warm except for us – not even15 miles away it was Sunny and Warm!!! Was tempted to take a ride but then where would we find a bathroom with all the Covid-19 restrictions? Plus those few miles put us in Rural area…

I did drive to the Cove today. And then walked 2 miles there. And yes, I need boots and yes I need Gortex! Fog, great for photos!

If Hemingway wrote haiku! Seems perfect for 2020’s gray Trick or Treat day half-heartedly spitting snow.

Will you have snow for tomorrow the 31st (halloween)…I know that sometimes they’d have a snowy 31st in North Dakota! were some of our family lives… Several states had snow in September and again last week… Western Montana has already had -10…

Thankfully, no — tomorrow will be warmer, sunny and dry!

You write of rain. I write of mist.
And through and in and of it all, magic shimmers.

Wondering, were you out in the dark walking in the rain while it turned to snow (while I was in bed simply musing)? if so, maybe the snow came to brighten up your trek….

No, when I was there, it was only rain and more rain. It snowed later in the morning.

Late to the party – trying to catch up but will be at it all day, methinks.
I thought it looked like fireworks, too. And I feel you. Went running in the rain two days ago. Shoes are STILL wet! Warm shower was what was needed right after, lemme tell you
