Sunday Morning

Life is so full of unpredictable beauty and strange surprises. Sometimes that beauty is too much for me to handle. Do you know that feeling? When something is just too beautiful? When someone says something or writes something or plays something that moves you to the point of tears, maybe even changes you.

      1. Is this the infamous bench?
I suggest, adding my voice to Karen’s, that you dedicate one day without the camera. And just sit there!!!
This bench is so inviting. If you don’t I will.

    1. From 4:30 to 5:00 am rarely see any traffic or humans. On 2 miles walk to park at that time. Rarely. In park, a good number of walkers. Some fisherman. And a few sunrise gawkers. All in all, quiet. I believe the World wakes up here after 6:30am.

    1. Jim; that’s my whole life – I did however (and I regret it now) listen to a part of reading this book (I suppose he read it, don’t know…) on Ama com and it did actually put me off. MY actual feelings (and yes, plenty and often tears too) are so well described here in that little bit, I can and did relate to them. Then, bouff, the audio book bit – harsh, very, very fast, no feelings in it….

  1. I, too, get overwhelmed with beauty, David. My body reacts even before my mind knows what has happened. One specific incidence comes immediately to mind. The first day we began our Iceland camping adventure. Stopped on the side of the road. Tears pouring down my face. No words. I can see why your stunning photos this morning brought these thoughts to mind.🙏

  3. Truth and beauty are somehow bedfellows for me…I am on my knees, where I belong, at times when one or both emerge out of the ether. I practice…trying to hold the moment, the only way to play with Time…. slow it down, if possible…or just fly past the honey bee, and speed it all up, again and again.

    I don’t believe much these days…but I what I see…and touch….
Words are directions to find something else…or maybe we can eat them too…

I argue with a Literary friend of mine that all things are metaphor. He reminds me that we need to eat food, and that a peanut butter sandwich is only that. Sigh. Like I just said, I don’t believe much. But I trust
    experience.

  4. Beauty in silence. The softness that’s present in the scenery is beautiful for it’s calmness. It asks your inner self to surrender and be at peace. A moment to live without looking with eyes..just feel.

  5. …just how our lives can be…filled with beauty of all kinds…being moved to tears in ways that change us. Appreciating John Lewis certainly can evoke tears and thus open hearts in ways that change us.

  6. I am always so grateful for the experience of beauty! I also love photography. I am thrilled to see some of your photos.I think you should start a poll, asking your readers where is the most beautiful outdoor spot where they have brushed their teeth.
