Saturday Morning

The silence I have in mind may be found wherever you are, if you pay attention, inside your mind, and is without cost. You don’t have to go to Sri Lanka: you can experience it in your bathtub. — I discover silence when I stay five extra minutes in bed at home.

  1. It’s so true. We only have to be in a certain mindset wherever we are, to experience silence within. ✨💚💕

“The Buddha taught his students to develop a power of love so strong that the mind becomes like space that cannot be tainted. If someone throws paint, it is not the air that will change color. Space will not hold the paint; it will not grasp it in any way. Only the walls, the barriers to space, can be affected by the paint. The Buddha taught his students to develop a power of love so strong that their minds become like a pure, flowing river that cannot be burned. No matter what kind of material is thrown into it, it will not burn. Many experiences – good, bad, and indifferent – are thrown into the flowing river of our lives, but we are not burned, owing to the power of the love in our hearts.”

  2. I indulged myself in a nice big bundle of silence this morning, lounging in bed until 7 after being up most of the night with dogs and thunderstorms. We can give ourselves small gifts so easily if we will only allow it…. Have a great day, pal! 🙂

  3. Those five minutes can be so precious, but in the end, you still have to deal with whatever you’re trying to avoid. After all, you’ve had a whole night of silence (unless the person beside you snores a lot).

  4. I sat on the deck of our home yesterday, listening to the birds, the still naked tree branches rustle in the gentle spring breeze, the river flowing and the sound of intermittent traffic in the distance. I sat and let the beauty invade my body as silence embraced me and completed me.

    It was glorious.

    Love this share. ❤

  5. I have this every morning. The only sound is my dog breathing (sometimes snoring). I sit, with my coffee in hand and look outside, which is way quieter than it is in “normal” times.
I also love when walking outside, you stop and realise there is no sound at all. Pure bliss.

  6. The sweetness of silence: “silence I have in mind may be found wherever you (we, or I…) are” and we all have this endowed gift of wholeness.

  7. We all go inward, to settle…though many try to resolve by other destructive ways to settle without doing the inward…until they Learn that the Only Way To Embrace the Journey, Is To Go Inward…We Must Reach In To Reach Out…
