Ha ha ha – We have the same limitations in Switzerland since yesterday evening, in France it started on Saturday midnight…..

Just read a letter from a friend’s friend about how bad it is in Spain because they were slow to react. One week and everything went to hell. Best to stay home with your family.
That should be interesting….the CF in our city is the busiest store, typically with a line that spills out onto the main road, causing a bit of a traffic hazard. (And a long wait for chicken). Now the line will be down the bloody block.

These are extraordinary times. I am weaning myself off constant news updates — it’s causing me too much anxiety! 🙂
My youngest daughter, whose partner returned Saturday night, from The Players in Florida when it was cancelled, is now in self-quarantine (plus her office is all working from home now). She bought groceries before he returned to last them two weeks — I told her to think about all the money they’re saving by not eating out (which is a lot!). That money could go towards your trip to Greece mid-May, I said. Oh wait. That trip is on hold…
On another side, my eldest daughter is 6 months pregnant, at risk of early delivery because of a medical condition, has a husband with a compromised immune system and severe asthma and a two-year-old son. They are in self-quarantine in their home in Vancouver for the duration – for a compelling look at why, read her IG story. (It made me cry.) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9qMsdYBZCc/
Louise, I am dismayed- wrote a comment after reading your daughter’s story but couldn’t find it…. Shall make another effort when on the laptop. Thinking of you and your family.
Louise, I have re-read your daughter’s IG again and again – and I’m ever more thankful for ‘just’ my very minor complaints (if any at all). Every day I hear and read about friends, many of a certain age, but also many with children and no jobs left…. and I feel truly privileged. We all here hope and pray that for the kind and good people things may get better, that babies may be born healthy (a young friend had her first born boy yesterday), another one doesn’t have the right to have her husband with her, a French friend who is working in an Old People’s Home has three small children at home, is working around the clock – I don’t know how she isn’t getting crazy. I continue to pray for your beloved ones and we hope that it all goes well, eventually.
I am simply cooking away…it’s what I do to procrastinate and comfort myself. I’m preparing a small corned beef and all the vegetables for my 90 year old friend…to bring to his house later. He made me a proper English brunch on Sunday! (and I’m not fat!)
@ Louise…in dark early morning yesterday…an up the road neighbor and I stood in the cold and talked for close to 1/2 hour -leaning across the bed of a pickup…one of the issues we spoke about was those who are pregnant, or who have infant or children (her youngest is a 13 girl)… I’ve read what your beautiful daughter Alexis wrote…she is a gifted writer, strong, compassionate and beautiful inside & out like her Mom…I had a high risk pregnancy and a beautiful baby girl who was in the NICU it is hard enough to begin with… adding the current world situation on top of her situation is heartbreaking…Her husband and myself am in a very high risk group for contracting the virus…at this point our 5,000 sq mile county doesn’t have a case though all of those around us…so many being tested in my county…our state I think is in the top 8 states for most cases…I read what she wrote about you “After 16 years, My Mother” reading that confirmed my kind thoughts of you! a beautiful, caring, giving, intelligent and humane person…God bless you, your husband, your children and their family units…and Yes we must all pray for those suffering, those in fear, those homeless and for the world to Heal…PS: our daughter’s middle name is Louise 🙂 and I read here on DK’s shares a while back that Ray’s beautiful little granddaughter middle name is Louise! & my daughter’s shares the same initials with Ray’s granddaughter …God Bless All and stay well…

Your beautiful words bring me comfort on this cloudy day here in Calgary — it is that feeling that comes when the veil that occludes the world ‘out there, sometimes leaving me feeling alone is lifted and I realize, I am not alone. We are not alone. We are all connected — even sometimes when it’s a delightful connection through a name. I am sending you much gratitude, healing light and prayers for well-being.
I felt the same way when I read the email! And I get with everybody saying. What an interesting time to be alive. And “be alive” is the most important thing!

Dear hubby was to fly out tomorrow…he canceled on Monday He was pretty sure 2 weeks ago that he’d cancel…he was finally going to be able to eat at Chick-Fil-A for the 1st time, they have one at the connecting airport…I’ve told him before that DK the man on the move likes to eat at Chick-Fil-A…(I think you’ve mentioned a Chick-Fil-A visit, to a drive through one evening, you & Susan,,,in your town) & you had desserts that weekend 🙂 , too.
My Narcotics Anonymous group is meeting tonight to determine if and when we should suspend meetings. Tough call. Our county has not set a policy as of yet for limiting groups, but I have a feeling that is coming. Like any business or person, our group has rent and bills to pay. We are fully self supporting, declining outside contributions and dependent upon members contributions.
I’ve been the treasurer there for 7 years now. The one thing I have learned about money seems to be not to worry too much. Rent is paid two months in advance, and unlike a business, donations (sales) can come in without meetings (customers).
Our primary mission is to carry the message to the addict that still suffers. Who knows what creative ways our higher power will find for us to continue to do so, no matter what?
@ Bulletholes…Best of Luck coming to a decision…you may need to suspend in person group and rely on phones, emails, or a teleconferencing for supporting those in need…My youngest of my older brothers passed away from a Heroin overdose…he was my brother and an addict for many decades…he started down the path as a 13 year old…I was a very young child…
PS in my area the closures have been in place & size limits of people meeting too…Strangely, they allowed a job fair w/60 employers and hundreds of people, teenagers and young adults…I am in shock that didn’t get canceled, on Monday…people are human and errors happen…
It will be interesting, what we decide tonight. There was an article in the Rolling Stone Yesterday, focused more on AA than NA. One of the Traditions of NA and AA is that each group is autonomous, and makes its own decisions. What that means is that we wont receive anything but “suggestions” from Regional or World councils.
So far in my county or state there has been no directive that would prevent us from operating the current schedule.
Dave, thank you, I am glad that he canceled !!!…though it is hard when his Dad is dying…I kept telling him that your Dad wouldn’t want you to get sick, get quarantined far from home or bring the virus to their area of country where their state recently have their 1st case of C-19…His Dad told him the same thing! We were thankful that we visited with his father in January we’d not been able to see him for almost 4 years…it was after he returned home in mid to late February… he was taken to the hospital then he was transferred from one hospital to another he was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, doctor are surprised he is still holding on in this end stage of life…/// Hoping your Eric isn’t flying for his job at this time…
