  2. It is mesmerizing — and the music evokes a sense of peace and calm. Hopefully, that is what the fisherman was feeling too!

Though I do wonder how someone managed to be there at that exact moment in time to film it! Did it take many takes? Did they put something on the water to entice the birds? Does it happen every time the man goes out in his boat and a film-maker heard about it….? So many questions! 🙂

  3. What a mesmerizing short this is – the atmospheric take, the soothing music – and SO different to the gulls I got to know so well when I lived next to the sea….. No shreeking, bomb-diving, just calm, peace, beauty, soothing and wonderful.
Glorious artwork, heavenly serenity – and thanks God I don’t sit with that fisherman in his boat. That would SO freak me out. ‘My’ gulls never behaved so calmly 😉

  4. Re ‘Russian music’: It doesn’t have to necessarily, although the link leads to a Russian (or anything Cyrillic) name. We have sung quite a number of similar dreamy music by Northern and Eastern composers, just thinking of Pärt, Elgar, Aarne, our ‘new’ star Gjeilo, but also Borodin, Rachmaninoff, Adams, Ligeti, Salonen …. I’m definitely more of a Baroque Girl but I love also very much composers such as Tavener and – in a totally different fashion – but incredibly touching and beautiful, our UK Hero John Rutter. So, Sawsan, I would love to invite you to find THAT music and tell us all about it. Or maybe we have somebody speaking and ‘thinking’ Russian who could help us further with this. It would be worthwhile.

You sound like my then friend (since HH) when he was greatly astonished to learn that I not only love the Baroque music but also love Jazz, Pop etc…..
