      1. Smiles…. You know this situation reminds me so much when I first had my dog and I had to ask parents and (one of my) sister(s) to look after her – it was SO difficult because all my family apart from me are absolute CAT lovers and approach dogs with reserve (because, they need to be much more attended to than cats)….. It always went well and of course our dog won them over, but I am able to see your point. Look at it as a dearly beloved guest dog – until you‘ll have your own …. again….. Because EVERYBODY needs a dog! 🙂

  1. Sully should meet Beaumont the Sheepadoodle. We got him because my youngest daughter kept sending links to the CUTEST puppy pictures ever — because for some reason, she thought we needed a puppy. Well, we didn’t need a puppy — but he sure is a great addition to our home. You’ll have to send Sully a link to Beau’s blog — http://SundayswithBeaumont.com Beaumont wins every conversation!

  2. Aww…I just now read this post. So glad you have Sully in your life, even if it’s just as a grandpa. 🙂 You know, I have come to believe that dog lovers should never be without a dog, for so many reasons. Shortly after Bella died, I found Daisy…but my daughter and her family fell so in love with Daisy (and Daisy with them), that she ended up being more their dog than mine. Michael (the person I took care of for nearly two years) passed away recently and I’ve been thinking the trauma of all of that could perhaps be calmed with another pup. I know I’m a little bit of an emotional wreck these days, but not so much so that I don’t understand how our animal friends can heal. I hope that someday we will all see that you have found another pup to have in your life. Just think of the inspiration for writing that such a friend could be. For now, I’m sure Sully will be the source of many amusing stories. Love to you, David.
