Happy New Year!

Take a breath…

Don’t swallow the sun
The moon isn’t bright enough…

I promise I’ll be a better person this time next year.

If you’re reading this…
Congratulations, you’re alive.
If that’s not something to smile about, then I don’t know what is.

  2. I can only and fully subscribe to that one!
Happy New Year (kind of the second time because I’m reading backwards now….). But better twice or 5 times than not at all! So, Happy, fullfilled, joy-filled, healthy, content, kind, patient, …… New Year, 365 times, to you and your family. K

    1. Kiki. Here’s another that moved me:

      With what stillness at last
      you appear in the valley
      your first sunlight reaching down
to touch the tips of a few
high leaves that do not stir
as though they had not noticed
and did not know you at all
then the voice of a dove calls
      from far away in itself
to the hush of the morning

so this is the sound of you
here and now whether or not
      anyone hears it this is
where we have come with our age
our knowledge such as it is
and our hopes such as they are
      invisible before us
      untouched and still possible

You do know that Hope dies last…. 😉 This is one of my life-long mantras – and it works, so far!
