Saturday Morning

What is silence?

Something of the sky in us.

  1. “Off we go into the wild blue yonder”…”Above us only sky”…the sky is a constant in everyone’s life…the sky, the sun, the moon, the stars, those of us with eyesight often look skyward…thinking, dreaming, wondering… the sky’s changing colors influenced by what is being reflected, the vast storm systems obscure blue, the storm lays down thick heavy layers of different levels, can be stagnant… sitting, brewing, gaining in strength or shedding frivolously or lightly…a storm can move along,at great speeds, clearing a way presenting a path that illuminates light…and calmness is found, grasped in the soothing silence… in the stillness and silence one can hear God and in the end for me, a promise… “After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever” 1 Thessalonians 4:17 (NIV)
