I discovered that in the early part of the morning a mist hovered in the hollows of the estate and the grass was wet with dew. There was a smell in the air of bonfires, the land already preparing for autumn…The morning welcomed me and I felt lighter, more confident, walking with my head up, ready for anything.

The hanging mist makes you look we are going through the early morning mist phase currently- a lovely passage

We were driving through mist when going to the Loire Valley last SUnday. The Loire plaine is known for its fogs and we said how lucky we were to have only ‘mist’ and didn’t have to fear to run into someone or being run over by someone….. It’s a fine difference between SHEER beauty and oppressing wet semi-darkness….
You guys hopefully a better future (at least more bearable) as of today !

My exact favorite … ‘early part of the morning a mist hovered in the hollows of the estate and the grass was wet with dew.’

I was a kid the first time I saw fog in my life. We don’t get fog in the desert, Caleb would know 😉
It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Suspended between heaven and earth…

When my grandson was younger we called the mist “ghosts”…in a friendly way. Sometimes I think our memories hide within the mist..

We had fog this morning…turned on the portable oil filled heater (it was 59 in the house) the fog burned off early and the weather was fabulous…hoping to drive through the wine country Friday…the vista similar to Italy and France (the photos and movies I’ve seen) /// the photographer Ed Stockard. is from Methow Valley, WA. …same place as the ultra runner you’ve read about on Instgram…that runner has amazing photos too…that Valley is breathtakingly beautiful…as our Claire Fuller’s words, she paints such a wonderful image with her words and I’d love to have an estate in the countryside…/// Caleb could always show us where and what he does on a hump day evening…

We did drive through the wine country Friday afternoon…we sat outside without coats, basking in the sun, the views amazing…some of the vineyards had some vines still holding onto golden amber leaves…the pink roses were so heavy with glorious scent and large blooms…honey bees and hornets explored… a trio of crows perched on the end of some grape vine rows, above acrobatic fast birds put on a show, driving, turning with ease… the sun started it’s journey to the west as shadows changed and laid down across the valley…and the illumination of the rose’s leaves where so beautiful appearing to be painted in silhouette on linen canvas…in reality the backdrop, four tightly meshed deck chairs…and I know I was the only one on this earth that witnessed this few brief moments of splendor…we drove on a few miles to quickly visit another winery…this winery a large concern…there is a small cemetery on the property that many are unaware of… we walk through reading the very old, ornate headstone giving honored to those who have passed, including two veterans two who had served in the Civil War…we noted that some of the people must have passed during the 1918 flu epidemic…some of old age, some way too young…and the ridge rises between two valleys and I thought what a beautiful spot laid to rest a little closer to heaven up on the rise…we drove along, on narrow two lanes, where hawks sit on fence posts surveying…the road turns becoming curvy as we’re heading home… I reflected on the quiet, beautiful time we spent together on a dry November day…and I know that each breath is a gift…
