Everyone wants you to be Atlas,
to shoulder it all. Even the voice in your
head insists you are behind. But I’ve seen
the light in you, the one the gods finger
while we sleep. I’ve seen the blossom open
in your heart, no matter what remains to
be done. There are never enough hours
to satisfy the minions of want. So close
your eyes and lean into the Oneness that
asks nothing of you. When the calls stack,
answer to no one, though you receive them
all. Just open your beautiful hands, born with
nothing in them. You have never been more
complete than in this incomplete moment.

“There are never enough hours to satisfy the minions of want.” So true!! Timely, for me, David.

I should have kept my mouth shut today when the calls stacked!
I should have recited ‘lightly’ to myself, but, No!!!
It’s been a long day, and it was my day off 😑

Yes, someone has been after one of my employees, in all the unfair ways imaginable. I had to step in. She works hard, works fair, and as graceful as can be. They’ve been at her because of the way she talks, a cultural thing.

Sawsan; this is terrible. Hero Husband was mobbed and nobody stood up for him. He was too ‘good’ in every respect and his vicious, difaming treatment caused us both great illness. I adore you for standing up to your faithful employee. Love you! 🙂

I’m sorry to hear this, Kiki. It is sad how people with the authority can abuse it. And maybe sometime I’ll learn to do the right thing (calmly). The thing is, she has no clue! She’s so pure and good hearted she has no clue.

All this is enough reason to explain why I so much loved (without knowing why for a long time) the book Atlas shrugged by Ayn Rand. It must have been the first American book I bought when I came to live in Canada for a while. I have no idea why I bought it and it was a ‘heavy meal with much to chew on’ for this naive, pink-tinted-glasses Swiss girl…. might have been the huge amount of ‘book’ I got for my money; I could hardly hold that weighty hardback tome 😉
And little did I know how still terribly full of actuality it would be so many, many years later!

let’s hear Nepo, “and lean into the Oneness that asks nothing of you.” And, who and what is asking so-o much?
I love, Sawsan, that your employee knows nothing of the judgmental ill will–that shows your grace!
Ah-h Kiki, we care…and not because of “reason” but … our hearts’ wisdom.
