Now has come, an easy time

Now has come, an easy time. I let it
roll. There is a lake somewhere
so blue and far nobody owns it.
A wind comes by, and a willow listens
gracefully.

I hear all this, every summer…
That lake stays blue and free; it goes
on and on.

And I know where it is.

  1. My son showed me a little tiny lake just like this, a deep green from the fir trees growing around it or an equally deep blue depending on the light of the sun or the time of the day. It is called Lake Cauma in the Grisons in Switzerland and from that moment on I understood why my city-child wanted to live where he does – now for many years already….
Over the years, we went several times, in all seasons. When we had my nr blind mum with us, she wanted (once more, she said) do the walk and on our way back to the car we took a free elevator. The water is cristal clear and as it comes directly from the depth of the mountains it’s always cold. At the foot of the elevator there is a lovely little restaurant with friendly service and rather good food. Simple and natural, as is the whole setting. A dream I just wanna go and visit again, thinking about it!

Stafford’s words describe the feeling beautifully

      1. What you don’t know, I’m on YT and gorging on everything I can find on Flims (the Cauma Lake beongs to the village of Flims) – there are some glorious drone films on this lake and others and funnily most have English subs (when there was speaking at all….). !
