Monday Morning Wake-Up Call

a-fresh-start

Here is your empty space.

What will you do with your own fresh start?

  1. Faved Mary Jo’s wonderful approach to a ‘fresh start’….
Made VERY meaningful when taking the time to listen to the TED talk and going back to the NYT for that awe-inspiring, heartbreaking and heartwarming article by Amy. How come that often the ‘best’ couples suffer such terrible separation?
Thank for this discovery, both the magnificent picture and the beautiful talk. I’m subbed to TED talks but I hardly ever have the time to really, really listen to any of them. They are often very ‘deep’ and meaningful.

  2. Wow…
Just watched this. Last week I had my first cancer scare. I was at the same hospital where our Layla was born. Evanston Northwestern Hospital. Wednesday of the week before I had a regular screening and they called the same day to come for further diagnostic testing. I knew I’ll find out the results on the spot. They kept saying further testing again and again and again. Then I had few moments alone in bed while waiting for an ultrasound technician. My whole life came to my mind. And I started planning. “Layla graduates tomorrow, my stepdaughter is in town for that. It’s our biggest religious holiday the day after, and on the same day I have three interviews for the same position. Then leaving for vacation.”
I quickly made the decision no one will find out until we come back from vacation.
Then, someone interrupted my planning by saying I’m all clear. No cancer. The whole ride home after I was trying to find a way to stay in that moment. The moment where I thought I might have a short time to live, and the instant I got a new start when told I was ok. I want to live in that mind set.

No cancer, for now. Got the new position on the spot. The Keys are beautiful. And I’m thankful for Live & Learn, and you, David 🙂

      1. Thank you Kiki. Much love to you ❤
It also helped that I was very busy last week. No time to think. And there’s a lesson learned there.
