Lightly Child, Lightly

There are enigmas in darkness
There are mysteries
Sent out without searchlights

The stars are hiding tonight
The moon is cold and stony
Behind the clouds

Nights without seeing
Mornings of the long view
It’s not a sprint but a marathon

Whatever we can do
We must do
Every morning’s resolve

~ Edward Hirsch, excerpt from Gabriel: A Poem

  1. Until Live & Learn, Thursday was just that day between Wednesday and Friday. I don’t know what I would do without Lightly!

    Thursday mornings resolved.

  2. “Whatever we can do, we must do.” Drawing that thought in, pal. Finding it so difficult to feel like I’m doing anything to move the needle in a positive direction these days, but trying like hell to make small differences in my little corner of the world. And I LOVE that photo…. Make a great day….

  3. Beautiful, photo…light emerging…life waking. /// “Every morning’s resolve” is to embrace the gift, claim that first breath of gratefulness and behold the revelation of what light’s illumination greets.
