Lightly Child, Lightly.

I want to rest, to float–
a dust mote in a beam
of light squared by a window–
to sigh and lilt between

the object and the eye,
before the day can catch me
back up into myself,
and through that prism, watch me

–  Anna Lena Phillips Bell, from “Midafternoon” in Ornament

  1. Loved this, David.
(BTW… I think my issue liking and posting here is related to the browser I use. I seem to have no problem with Chrome; Safari is giving me a headyache! I’m just glad I can post again 😊)

  2. this is über-marvellous. Had to leave it resting for a while, have now two names to look up and dwelve into…. what a perfect pairing and how deep it is. Could be scary, to look that much into oneself!
