Amazing! You should send this to Stags Leap winery! I have been following your blog for several years now ,and want to thank you for all your amazing posts. Whether it is the shared music(Juneus Meyvant, OMG!!) the incredible photos(your eyes blaze out) or the thought provoking prose I am often touched in a deep part of my soul by what you share. I want you to know how much it is appreciated in my life. Happy Thanksgiving Best,Fiona fionaclaire@gmail.com 604-312-7928
WOW! This was over in a matter of 2+ seconds, right? Talk about all parties being at the right place and at the right time. You go, Mr. Buck!! Wonderful photos, Dave.
Decades ago we were leaving a remote coastal campground in the Redwoods (Fern Canyon area) I was driving the little two door, gold Toyota Corolla on the narrow, dirt road along the ocean that turns into a road with bluffs on both side hanging with ferns, so gorgeous…while we were driving along a portion of the road with a bluff about 12 ft high on the drivers side and flat on the passenger side a Roosevelt Elk came sailing off, in a downward angle, over the car engine hood its right hoof, trailing impacting, glancing the car (he almost completely cleared the car)…we looked at each other in amazement and shock at what just happen the elk buck kept going, bounding through the sand and beach grass…in the freedom of the wild…
It was and we had many adventures in that Corolleee,, the floors were vinyl… ha we drove it for thirteen years, being gold mustard it was a bee attractor (yellow jackets and hornet) will never own a car in bee attracting color again !!!,…I bought it as a teenager I think it had 13 miles on it and I paid $3,009,the engine was a 3KC When we traded it in they gave us $2000 we bought a Camry, used which we still drive…we have two old Camry’s and an older Avalon we purchased last year…ah, I love the heated seats, I used the heated seat on my way home from the gym often while the A/C blow on my front side….Safety, dependability and affordable…,
I thought he was going to crash on the pavement.

If I were a deer and someone rang the “it’s the quittin’ time” bell…I’d be jumping Friday-high, too.
