33.
Today many people are drunk on speaking,
always agitated,
incapable of silence or respect for others.
They have lost their calm and dignity.
~ Cardinal Robert Sarah, from “The Power of Silence: Against the Dictatorship of Noise” (April, 2017).

Reminds me of this Stephen R. Covey quote, “Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.” /// It is hard for a lot of people to Really Listen! The ability to Listen is learned and it is in our control to be willing to improve this necessary emphatic, communication skill…and taking a pause of breath before one speaks can yield and contribute to harmony…

Lately, I’ve been trying to do better with listening and not making everything about my own problems. Everyone has personal struggles and secrets. They deserve to be heard, no matter who they are. ❤

Yes. Well stated. And I would add (no matter who they vote for)

I was going to quote Covey but that’s already done. 😉
So instead, I shall simply say, Yes. Please listen and go a step further and actually hear what is being said.

As I read all of the above, I have nothing to add. I am just listening. xo

Our Course In Miracles contemplation last Sunday was:…”In stillness we will hear God’s Voice today without intrusion of our petty thoughts, without our personal desires, and without all judgment of His holy Word.” a lovely, thoughtful session transpired

This is, what I enjoy most, when I come home from work or when I run. To be silent, to let the noise and the confusion stream out of my mind.
