Poachers killed this black rhinoceros for its horn with high-caliber bullets in South Africa’s Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park. Black rhinos number only about 5,000 today.

  1. Very hard to even look at this. I’ve had the privilege to observe a few of these peaceful animals in the wild. There doesn’t seem to be any limit to the human greediness. Sad.

  2. In the city near my hometown, there’s a zoo. In one of its buildings, as a part of an exhibition, there’s a door. On the sign next to it you can read: “The most dangerous animal in the world”. If you open the door, you see….. a mirror. I’m afraid, that, one day, we’ll have to pay for this.

  3. Disgusting. the poachers, their helpers, the groups who finance them, and all those who are recipients of the end product – they all, need to be the ones tracked down to pay for their crimes to the fullest extent of the law. Before the population of rhinos is nothing more than a memory.
