Doesn’t anybody in the world anymore want to get up in the middle of the night and sing?

touch-feel-fingers

One tree is like another tree, but not too much. One tulip is like the next tulip, but not altogether. More or less like people – a general outline, then the stunning individual strokes. Hello Tom, hello Andy. Hello Archibald Violet, and Clarissa Bluebell. Hello Lillian Willow, and Noah, the oak tree I have hugged and kissed every first day of spring for the last thirty years. And in reply its thousands of leaves tremble! What a life is ours! Doesn’t anybody in the world anymore want to get up in the

middle of the night and
sing?

  1. I celebrate trees! I, so love Trees! They are a magnificent gift…I have favorite individual trees and fond memories of time spent as a child up in the trees sitting on the limbs, playing in the neighbors tree-house and I think of a great tree house our daughter would look at and talk about up at the top of the hill on the ridge and how she wanted to play there…she was told by the property owners (the wife a pastor and the husband an attorney) that she was welcomed to play there when she wanted, though she never did, she always looked so longingly to the tree house as we drove up the switchback…one of the much, much older boys who lived there grew up to be a famous singer who now lives in Nashville though not a country singer, he has had a number of songs in the top 20 over the years…I also think of Charlie Brown loving the cut, castoff underdog Christmas tree or branch…/// In regards to your offerings title: I love these lyrics from a song Billie Holiday sung “Summertime” it is one I sing… composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 opera Porgy and Bess. The lyrics are by DuBose Heyward.
    …”One of these mornings
You’re goin’ to rise up singing
    Then you’ll spread your wings
    And you’ll take the sky
    But till that mornin’
    There’s a nothin’ can harm you”…
