“From the beginning I had a sense of destiny, as though my life was assigned to me by fate and had to be fulfilled. This gave me an inner security, and though I could never prove it to myself, it proved itself to me. I did not have this certainty, it had me.”
C. G. Jung, from Memories, Dreams, Reflections

I wonder how many of us grown up with the sense that are we destined for something – whether it was unique or big or special in some undefined way. I think it offers some security and a lot of doubt – for it is often the things we do which we dismiss that have the most impact. Hope that makes sense – getting some more coffee now.

It makes me think of what I have told people from time to time…with my youngest child having serious health issues from the time he was one year old. I’ve told people I was supposed to be the mom of this child…because I found out that I was someone strong enough to make this life journey with him. That was my destiny.

Interesting. I have the original by Hodgkins which is far superior. Odd that the artists copied each other so exactly.
