For the millionth time in the history of feeling

“Even now, all possible feelings do not yet exist, there are still those that lie beyond our capacity and our imagination. From time to time, when a piece of music no one has ever written or a painting no one has ever painted, or something else impossible to predict, fathom or yet describe takes place, a new feeling enters the world. And then, for the millionth time in the history of feeling, the heart surges and absorbs the impact.”

Nicole Krauss, from The History of Love

    1. Beth, your words remind me of Einstein:

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”

    1. Thanks for sharing Robert. The pairing was mine, a fortuitous moment (synchronicity?) – I came across both in a matter of 12 hours. The photograph I couldn’t shake. And the Krauss passage, magical.

        1. I read “History of Love” several years ago. It wasn’t for me. Bit shocked as to how many quotes I have since found from the book that I appreciate. Maybe I need to go back to the book today… Sorry, Robert, what do you mean by “in total”?
