“To the age-old question of “what do women want,” Lay’s thinks it has an answer: Chocolate-covered potato chips. This month, Lay’s is rolling out milk chocolate-covered potato chips. The chipmaker says the salty-sweet combo is tailor-made for young women, who apparently can’t get enough of the stuff. Lay’s senior director of marketing, noted: “the increasing popularity of chocolate-covered snacks among our target audience, millennial women. … They are looking for those more indulgent, savory/sweet combinations.” The product’s debut will officially be a trial run, but the product could become a permanent part of the Lay’s arsenal if shoppers love them. As for other chocolate-covered chip combinations, “the possibilities could be endless,” says Saenz. (Source: Bloomberg BusinessWeek: “Men Like Potato Chips. Women Like Chocolate. Who Will Like Chocolate Potato Chips?“)
The possibilities could be endless. Right. Got it. May this NOT come to a store near me…Please.

Nope. Not me. I love chips. I love chocolate, but this doesn’t do anything for me.

OK, we’ll keep trying. How about we go back to the CAKE?

If it’s a question of sweet or salty, I like salty, but chocolate (GOOD chocolate) on its own is tempting. Cake?…depends….

I’m definitely trying these. Alone. So I don’t have to share.

Why did it take them so long to think of this?

Exactly John. Now that they have, we will have 50 versions (mint chocolate chips, almond chocolate chips…)

Women want sweet OR salty. Lay’s sin is mixing the two flavors.

Men on the other hand want sweet, salty and a lot of both.

I’d be willing to try them at least once, but potato and chocolate together??!! Hmmmm.

Laughing. Best not to look directly in its eyes. As to going back, you’ll be going back and back and back for more.

I know you’re gonna be hatin’ on me when I say it, but these hold ZERO appeal for me. Show me a caramel apple, on the other hand, and you’ll have me at “hello.”

You haven’t even tried it. Didn’t take you for being so closed minded. How about chocolate covered pretzels? You do those?
