Is it really that important to be constantly busy?

Is it really that important to be so engaged in social media?

  1. I would be a little disappointed if someone preferred to be talking/connecting with someone else whilst with me. It sort of reminds me of ‘gossip’ – you know: If someone is gossiping about someone with you, you can bet your boots they will be gossiping about you when with someone else…..
This kinda makes me think: When with you they may be texting/conversing with someone else. When with that ‘other person’; will they be texting/conversing with you…!?! D’oh…!

  2. And why is it that we even have to watch a video on a computer to be reminded of all of that??? I don’t know where all of this is headed…but I just keep hoping that love prevails and that we are able to remember the importance and the PRESENCE of each other…and that somehow, our children and their children will not lose sight completely of what should be most important in their hearts. It’s all a little bit scary and sad to me.

  3. I find this guy intensely irritating. You have the chutzpa to make a film about distraction and the unwanted intervention of technology? Seriously? And you’re sooo invested in your topic that you can’t even put the damn phone down long enough to do an interview on the subject?! Wow…. (Ok, Lori, step away from the iPad–guess this struck a bit of a nerve…. Going to the gym now to work off a little of this agita…. 😉

  5. Social media…do we really need it?? We had an awful accident here in town recently and the family of the 18 year old who died heard about it on facebook before the cops identified the body??!!? Nothing is sacred any longer…..
