Saturday Night with Harry

We saw Harry Chapin perform this song, Taxi, in one of his last live performances.   This timeless ballad continues to feed my post-Zen-glow of San Francisco…

It was raining hard in ‘Frisco,
I needed one more fare to make my night…

    1. OMG, really Carolyn?!?! I have to let you slide on this one. It’s just too easy. And I need to be sensitive as you might be a member of some long lost tribal sect. No power. No TV. (for 30 years)

      1. Haha… No, David…. Not a member of any sect.. 😉
My partner, K just took a look, and he hasn’t heard of him either..
You will have to pardon our Aussie ways (well, some of them…)!
We don’t get to see and hear all that you do in the US…
We are currently listening to our community broadcasting station. Sunday afternoons they showcase Casey Kasem. (It’s now midday, and Casey has begun). It’s a 4 hour program highlighting his ‘actual’ broadcasts from the past. He often plays songs that we here in Australia haven’t heard… And some of the artists are also new to us… some 30 years or so later… Just sayin’…. 😉

  1. This is such a classic! I love these “narrative tales,” and nobody does it better than Chapin… Another song that I love in this genre is Gordon Lightfoot’s “Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”
